Entre 2010 et 2050, la croissance réelle et les évolutions de prix pourraient multiplier par plus de 3 le poids de la Chine et de l’Inde dans le PIB mondial, tandis que celui des économies avancées – États-Unis, Europe, Japon – serait divisé par 2. La crise de 2008-2009 a accéléré le phénomène majeur que constitue le basculement de l’économie mondiale vers le monde aujourd’hui émergent. La Chine dépasserait les États-Unis vers 2025 et représenterait 28% de l’économie mondiale en 2050, soit deux fois le poids des États-Unis.
