Comments on IMF’s “Global Trade: What’s behind the Slowdown?” – or why there is more to trade slowdown than weak demand

The IMF’s latest World Economic Outlook points to weak demand and investment as the main factor behind the world trade slowdown. I argue that this conclusion is overblown and that the high-quality underlying work falls well short of explaining the slow trade puzzle.

Evaluation Report of CEPII

CEPII's Board decided to launch an evaluation of CEPII, and asked Mr. François Bourguignon, director of studies at EHESS and emeritus professor at the Paris School of Economics, to conduct it. The report is now available online, in French, but a summary of the main observations and conclusions is available in English.

Anne-Laure Delatte, CEPII new Deputy Director

Tenured Researcher at the French Institute for Scientific Research (CNRS), holding a Ph. D from the Paris 10 University on the breakup of hard exchange rate regimes, Anne-Laure Delatte joined CEPII in October 2016 as Deputy Director,  in charge of  the scientific programm International Macroeconomics and Finance. Her research focuses on financial economics and international macroeconomics with an empirical approach, applied to several areas including the Euro crisis, cross-border banking, forex reserves in emerging countries, commodity prices etc.
