CO2 emissions, renewable and non-renewable energy consumption, and economic growth: Evidence from panel data for developing countries
Katsuya Ito

In this paper, using panel data of 42 developed countries over the period 2002–2011 we attempt to empirically examine the linkage between CO2 emissions, renewable and non-renewable energy consumption, and economic growth. Our results suggest that non-renewable energy consumption leads to a negative impact on economic growth for developing countries. Additionally, we find that renewable energy consumption positively contributes to economic growth in the long run. Abstract
