Christophe Gouel is a scientific advisor to CEPII's "Trade Policy Modeling" program, specializing in commodity markets and international trade modeling.
In addition to his responsibilities at CEPII, he is Director of Research at INRAE in the Paris-Saclay Applied Economics unit.
An alumnus of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, he holds a PhD in economics from the Ecole Polytechnique, obtained in 2011. He worked at CEPII as an economist from 2006 to 2008, as well as at the World Bank and IFPRI, and was a lecturer at Ecole Polytechnique.
His research focuses on price volatility in commodity markets, international trade in agricultural products, and the links between trade and the environment.
